How Rushbrooke & Co. uses personal information collected through this website.
About this notice
This notice explains how Rushbrooke & Co. (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit this website or contact us through it. We are the controller of that information for the purposes of UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you become a client, we will provide separate information about how we handle personal data in connection with the services we provide to you.
Information we collect
When you send an enquiry using our contact form, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your telephone number, if you choose to provide it; and
- the content of your message.
If you contact us directly by email or telephone, we will collect the information you choose to share with us in that communication.
Please do not include sensitive personal, tax or financial information in your initial enquiry. If we need further details, we will discuss with you how they should be provided.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- discuss whether and how we may be able to help you; and
- keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Our lawful basis
We process enquiry information on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and, where you are asking about our services, to take steps at your request before potentially entering into an engagement with you.
How your information is stored and shared
This website is hosted by a third-party website hosting provider, and enquiries sent through the contact form are processed and stored by that provider on our behalf. We may also use third-party email and IT services to manage our correspondence. These providers act on our instructions and are only permitted to use your information to provide their services to us.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
We will not otherwise share your information unless we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up correspondence. If you become a client, your information will be retained in line with the terms of our engagement and our legal and professional obligations.
Cookies and third-party content
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash; when your browser requests these, those providers will receive technical information such as your IP address, in line with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information; and
- ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. Some rights are subject to conditions and exceptions.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
